Linkin Park has released a new trailer for its upcoming album, The Hunting Party, in which the band speaks about taking its music in a heavier direction this time around.
Shinoda says in the trailer, "There was a point last year when I was making stuff when I listened to it one day and I just realized that it was wrong. I was estimating something that I liked listening to, not something that I wanted to be making.”
Vocalist Chester Bennington adds that "Guilty All The Same" -- the first single from the new CD -- was the turning point at which the band started to write heavier material.
Their last two records -- 2010's A Thousand Suns and 2012's Living Things -- focused more on electronic sounds.
The Hunting Party is due out on June 17th. The band will head out on a co-headlining North American tour this summer with 30 Seconds To Mars that kicks off on August 8th in West Palm Beach, Florida.
