The Black Keys have posted the title track from their upcoming album Turn Blue online. Unlike the more uptempo first single, "Fever," the song "Turn Blue" has a more laid-back feel, using strings, heavy background synthesizers and a bubbling bass line for a sound quite different than the earlier track.
Turn Blue is the Keys' eighth studio album and arrives on May 13th.
The duo recorded Turn Blue in Los Angeles, Michigan and frontman Dan Auerbach's Nashville studio.
Auerbach told Rolling Stone that the seven-minute opening number called "Weight Of Love" made him and drummer Patrick Carneyrealize that they didn't have to worry about writing singles. He explained, "After that, it was like, 'We can do whatever we want -- it'll be all right'. . . At this point, there are absolutely no rules."
The new disc follows up 2011's El Camino, which featured the hit singles "Lonely Boy" and "Gold On The Ceiling."
