Richie Sambora hadn't yet spoken to his former bandmates in Bon Jovi before he excitedly accepted the invitation to the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony.
The longtime Bon Jovi guitarist Sambora left the group in 2013 to pursue other projects, but frontman Jon Bon Jovi said upon news of the band's induction earlier this week that all former members were welcome to attend.
"It'll be a joyous occasion," Sambora told Billboard. "I was [in Bon Jovi] for 31 years and we sold 150 million records or something and we put a lot of asses in seats in stadiums around the world and made a lot of people happy...I'm showing up for that."
Jon Bon Jovi said Wednesday of Sambora "He was my right hand for a long time, so there was never ill will."
Sambora said he anticipates nothing but smiles and good feelings from all current and former bandmembers.
