Alabama's Annual Sales Tax Holiday for back-to-school items is this weekend. Buy items tax-free beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, and ending at midnight Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Shoppers can purchase certain school supplies, computers, books and clothing free of the state, county, and city sales taxes.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES: $50 or less per item for certain school supplies

CLOTHING: $100 or less per item of clothing (including diapers) or footwear

COMPUTERS: $750 or less on single purchases of computers/computer equipment

BOOKS: $30 or less on any book; $50 or less on textbooks
