President-elect Donald Trump announced former reality TV star and Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy, the current host of The Bottom Line on FOX News, as his transportation secretary nominee for his upcoming administration.

"I am pleased to announce that former Congressman Sean Duffy, from the Great State of Wisconsin, is nominated to serve as the Secretary of Transportation," Trump said in a statement shared on his Truth Social account. "Sean has been a tremendous and well-liked public servant, starting his career as a District Attorney for Ashland, Wisconsin, and later elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District."

Duffy gained notoriety as a cast member on The Real World: Boston in 1997 and later appeared on Road Rules: All Stars in 1998 and Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Battle of the Seasons in 2002. The Wisconsin native began his political career by being appointed Ashland County District Attorney in 2002 and was initially elected to the House of Representatives in 2010, a position he held until 2019 before leaving Congress to co-host The Bottom Line.

Duffy is married to fellow former Real World cast member turned FOX News pundit Rachel Campos-Duffy, who Trump described as "a wonderful woman" and "a STAR on FOX News." A spokesperson for the network wished Duffy "the best of luck in his return to Washington" in a statement obtained by the Associated Press after Trump's announcement.

Trump had already named FOX News host Pete Hegseth as his nominee for secretary of defense last week.
