Best Bets for the Weekend, July 4- July 7

CITY OF MOBILE 4th of JULY CELEBRATION- Thurs 6pm-9:30pm (Fireworks at 9:00 PM), USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park

Join us at USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park for an unforgettable evening of live music and a spectacular fireworks show. The event kicks off at 6 PM, with fireworks lighting up the sky at 9 PM sharp.

PENSACOLA’S 4TH OF JULY- 7:30pm (concert), 9:00pm (fireworks), 

Bayfront Parkway from the Veterans Memorial Park to Bartram Park

Bring picnic blankets, chairs, and radios to secure the best spots along Bayfront Parkway. The festivities begin with the free Symphony Sparks & Stars concert by the Pensacola Symphony at the amphitheater behind the Wahoos stadium at 7:30 pm. Local food trucks will be available at Veterans Memorial Park and Bartram Park. 

Boats are required to maintain a distance of at least 1,200 feet from the east side of the Pensacola port for safety purposes. Viewers are not permitted to bring their own fireworks, sparklers, or other pyrotechnics. Officials have also asked that viewers refrain from bringing their pets.  CLICK HERE

BLUE WAHOOS 4TH OF JULY SUMMER CELEBRATION- Thurs 6pm-9pm, Blue Wahoos Stadium, Pensacola

There will be three water slides on the field, plus other inflatable games/bounce houses on the field and on the concourse, plus cornhole boards, inflatables for infants to play, music, Kazoo appearances, concession storefronts for food purchases, the Blue Wahoos merchandise store will be open. Admission $5. The Pensacola Symphony will be performing their Sparks and Stars Show behind the stadium at the waterfront amphitheater. Those attending will have view of Pensacola’s downtown fireworks show, as well as a view of fireworks on Pensacola Beach. There will not be a fireworks show that night at the stadium. (Wahoos fireworks are Wednesday.)  CLICK HERE

INDEPENDENCE DAY STREET PARTY- Wed 5pm-9pm (Fireworks 8:45pm), The Wharf, Orange Beach

There will be family friendly activities in the Entertainment District including a bubble truck, bounce houses, face painting ($10), camel rides ($10), Photo 360 Booth, stilt walker, balloon artist, juggler, Reptile Bus + more.

BAY MINETTE FIREWORKS- Wed 5pm-9pm (Fireworks at 9), Bay Minette Sports Complex, CLICK HERE   

RIVERFEST- Thurs 9am-9pm, Jernigan’s Landing, Downtown Milton

Riverfest, hosted by the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce, features a bike show, classic car show, duck race and weather permitting, fireworks will light up the skies at dark (between 9:00 PM - 9:30 PM).  CLICK HERE   

GULF SHORES INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION- Thurs 9pm, Gulf State Park Fishing Pier

Spectators are encouraged to gather at the Gulf State Park and the eastern area of the Gulf Shores Public Beach for the best viewing experience. Please note that the pier and the pier parking area will remain closed to the public during the event due to ongoing construction. CLICK HERE   

FLORA-BAMA 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS- Thurs 9pm, on the Beach behind the Flora-Bama, Perdido Key

The Flora-Bama 4th of July Party includes Fireworks, Miss Firecracker Contest (Thurs 3pm) and the Freedom Run (Saturday).  CLICK HERE    

FAIRHOPE’S 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION- Thurs 7:30pm-10:30pm, Henry George Park at Fairhope Pier

The Baldwin Pops Band Independence Day Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Henry George Park. A variety of patriotic music will be played before and during the fireworks display. The Fairhope fireworks display will begin at approximately 9 p.m.  CLICK HERE

50th GRAND BAY WATERMELON FESTIVAL- Wed 3pm-7pm, Thurs 10am-6pm, 10327 Taylor F Harper Blvd, Grand Bay, AL

On the 3rd, preview day, there’s no charge for parking. Arts & Crafts, rides, food vendors, and entertainment, (but no watermelon yet). On the 4th, admission is only $5 per vehicle, and in addition to Arts & Crafts, rides, food vendors and entertainment, there’s also the Pretty Baby Contest, Car Show, games, and all the free, sliced, ice cold, sweet Grand Bay watermelon you can eat. OWA 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND PARTY- Thurs-Sat, with Fireworks Saturday at 8:50, OWA Parks & Resort, Foley

Celebrate Independence Day Thursday through Saturday at OWA with family-friendly activities, a Dive-In movie night, live music, and one incredible fireworks show! From photo ops with Uncle Sam to a patriotic Costume Contest to a Hot Dog Eating Contest, this free event has it all! PLUS, enjoy a spectacular fireworks show on Saturday at 8:50 pm sharp. FREE FIRST SUNDAY AT HISTORY MUSEUM OF MOBILE- Sun 1pm-5pm, History Museum of Mobile & Colonial Fort Conde, Downtown Mobile

Visit any time from 1:00 pm - 5:00pm and enjoy free admission into the History Museum of Mobile and Colonial Fort Conde!

Also on Free Sunday: Colonial Fort Condé presents The Capture of Captain James Willing! Join us for this free 1-hour event in the Fort Courtyard at 2:00pm. In celebration of Independence Day, we invite guests to partake in a unique historical reenactment about Mobile during the Revolutionary War. Learn about how one man put his life on the line to try to bring the American cause to the people of British-occupied Mobile. Admission is free. CLICK HERE  

BLUES ON THE BAY: Goldmine Band- Sun 6pm, Hunter Amphitheater in Community Maritime Park, Downtown Pensacola

The community is invited to bring your coolers and lawn chairs for the 2024 Blues Angel Music's Blues on the Bay Free Concert Series. Guests of all ages are encouraged to enjoy the cool breeze of the bay while listening to some of the region's best musical talent. CLICK HERE
