The 2025 Hurricane Season is upon us. The best thing you can do is plan ahead...we all know what it looks like trying to get items last minute. The American Red Cross put together a good list of items to think about.
- Create a plan to evacuate and a plan to shelter safely at home. Your evacuation plan should include knowing where you’ll go, how you’ll get there, and where you’ll stay.
- Your stay-at-home plan should focus on gathering the right supplies so that you can live safely without power, water, gas, phone or internet for a long time.
- Include pets in all of your plans. Do not leave them behind
- Build or replenish your emergency kits. Your go-kit should include enough supplies for at least three days of food, water and medications. Your stay-at-home kit should have two weeks of food, water and a one-month supply of medications and medical supplies.
- When a hurricane threatens, having a clear plan is critical.
- Know your evacuation routes and shelters ahead of time.
- Never drive through flooded roads or across closed bridges.
- Establish a meeting place for your family in case you’re separated when the storm hits.
- Stay tuned to trusted weather sources and local officials for emergency updates. As always we will try our best to keep you updated so set that preset on your iHeart Radio app.
